Dump truck overturns on NJ Turnpike; driver hurt

EAST WINDSOR TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A dump truck driver was hospitalized after a crash that slowed traffic on the New Jersey Turnpike in Mercer County.

It happened at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes near Exit 8 in East Windsor Township.

Turnpike officials tell Action News the driver lost control, causing the truck to overturn, spilling a load of gravel.

The driver was taken to an area hospital to be treated for unspecified injuries.

There was no immediate word on that person's condition.
