It happened just after midnight in the southbound lanes near Edgemoor Road.
Police say the vehicle spun out on the highway.
The passenger was thrown from the vehicle. He went over a bridge and down a 50-foot embankment.
Rescuers found him on railroad tracks where he was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released at this time.
Police say the driver of the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
