Delaware grandmother dies after train hits car in Maryland

A grandmother from Delaware has died after a light rail train hit her car in Maryland.

Police say 63-year-old Denise Thomas tried to make a left turn across the tracks when the crash happened Friday morning.

Officials say there were "do not enter" and "no left turn" signs posted.

Thomas was taken to a local hospital where she died.

Her 12-year-old grandson was also in the car. He was taken to a hospital with minor injuries.
