NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- People in Newark, Delaware took part in a Blue Duffel Community Service Day at the University of Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center.

They put together emergency care kits for children who are victims of child abuse and neglect entering foster care.

Volunteers also created "no sew" blankets for the children.

The event was organized by the Kind to Kids Foundation.
