State police say the victim stepped off the DART bus, right into the path of an oncoming car.
It happened around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday on Philadelphia Pike at Holly Hill Road in Brandywine Hundred.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver is cooperating with police as the investigation continues.
