Trailblazing police officer honored in Wilmington, Delaware

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- They honored the life and legacy of a trailblazer in New Castle County law enforcement.

Family, friends and former colleagues gathered in Wilmington to remember 72-year-old Robert Snow, the first African American to serve as a New Castle County police officer.

Snow died earlier this month.

Action News introduced you to Corporal Snow last year, when his colleagues named a conference room after him.

Snow joined the force on September 11, 1968 and served until his retirement in 1988.
