Truck erupts in flames after crash in Hockessin, Delaware

HOCKESSIN, Del. (WPVI) -- A tractor-trailer went up in flames following a crash in New Castle County on Monday morning.

Action News was at the scene as crews put out hot spots.

Police say the tractor-trailer was carrying soy beans when it crashed near the intersection of Lancaster Pike and Newport-Gap Pike in Hockessin around 6:45 a.m.

The vehicle rolled over and became engulfed in flames.

Fortunately no one was injured.

The southbound lanes of Lancaster Pike were shut down briefly but have since reopened.

There was no word on what caused the crash.
