Shark spotted at Indian River Inlet in Delaware

Wednesday, May 10, 2017
A shark was spotted at the Indian River Inlet this week in Delaware.

A crew from the Delaware Center for Inland Bays spotted the Thresher Shark yesterday afternoon.

A spokesperson there says it is unusual but not unheard of for that type of shark to be that close to shore.

Officials believe the shark may have followed a school of fish into the area.

It was eventually led back into the ocean.

Thresher sharks are not considered dangerous to humans due their timid nature and small teeth.
