Dover police officer injured in the line of duty, dies 5 years later

A Dover, Delaware police officer who was injured in the line of duty five years ago died Friday.

Corporal Thomas Hannon passed away this morning surrounded by his family at Christiana Hospital.

The 42-year-old husband and father was highly decorated and earned many service awards during his tenure with the department.

He joined the Dover Police Department back in 2005 and suffered a leg injury in 2012.
