Two deputies with the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office were working on a Task Force, attempting to locate a missing runaway when they observed a white Pontiac Grand Am pull up with the runaway inside of the vehicle.
The deputies pulled their vehicle in front of the Pontiac, exited and identified themselves as law enforcement officers. The driver, identified as Deven Harley, failed to comply when ordered to shut off his engine. Then Harley allegedly put the car in drive and pulled away, striking one of the deputies with the vehicle, and breaking the driver's side view mirror in the process.
The suspect ditched his Grand Am on the 900 block of Johnston Street, and made a run for it. But he was arrested a few moments later at Broad and Snyder.
The deputy suffered abrasions to his hands and knees.
Harley now faces aggravated assault charges.
