2 children hospitalized after fire breaks out in East Mount Airy home

Officials say a total of 10 residents from one family were displaced by the fire.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Investigators are working to find out what started a house fire that left two children injured in Philadelphia's East Mount Airy neighborhood.

Firefighters responded to the 1000 block of East Hortter Street just after 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

Upon arrival, crews found flames burning through two floors of a twin house, which then spread to the roof.

Investigators say a 9-year-old and another child were taken to an area hospital due to injuries sustained in the blaze. There was no immediate word on their conditions.

A woman was also treated at the scene by medics.

Officials say a total of 10 occupants were displaced by the fire. All of the residents are said to be from the same family.
