1 dead in East Oak Lane apartment fire

EAST OAK LANE (WPVI) -- An apartment fire in the East Oak Lane section of Philadelphia has left one person dead.

The fire started around 4 p.m. Sunday on the 6300 block of North 10th Street.

Crews arrived and quickly got the fire under control.

The victim was located during a search by firefighters in the unit where the fire originated.

Medics quickly aided the victim, but were unsuccessful.

Officials say the smoke alarms were working.



There's a total of 90 units in the building.

Everyone else made it out safely. No firefighters were injured.
