Suspect charged after burned remains found in Philadelphia's Fairmount Park

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A person has been charged after human remains were found burned near Kelly Drive in Fairmount Park on February 20, according to the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office.

Kylen Pratt, of the 2900 block of Oxford Street, is charged with Murder, Abuse of a Corpse, Tampering with Evidence and other crimes, officials said.

The discovery was made around 12 p.m. on February 20 at Brewery Hill Drive and Kelly Drive.

According to police, the victim has been identified as 20-year-old Naasire Johnson, of Philadelphia.

Officers were originally called to 32nd and Thompson streets for a report of a person screaming.

When police arrived, they were directed to the human remains found behind a tree near Kelly Drive.



Authorities said the remains appeared to have been burned.
