WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Family and friends of children battling illnesses now have another resource to help during the difficult time.

A.A.R.P. is sponsoring a room for caregivers at the Ronald McDonald House in Wilmington.

Patients' relatives will be able to stay there free of charge while the children are cared for at Delaware's hospitals.

The non-profit helps more than 2,000 families a year.

AARP staff and volunteers also took time Monday morning to make breakfast for everyone already using the facility.
