North Philadelphia hit-and-run: Image released of vehicle sought for woman's death on Whitaker Avenue

Police have released video of the vehicle being south for a hit-and-run in North Philadelphia early Saturday morning that left a woman dead.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have released video of the vehicle being south for a hit-and-run in North Philadelphia early Saturday morning that left a woman dead.

The images shows a gray or silver sedan. Police say it should have damage to the right front side and possibly to the windshield.

No vehicle parts were recovered at the scene, police say.

The hit-and-run happened around 2:55 a.m. at Whitaker Avenue and Luzerne Street.

Police say the victim, 26-year-old LesMarie Velazquez, was crossing Whitaker when she was struck.

Velazquez was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition and was pronounced dead at 5:14 a.m.
