Last-minute holiday shoppers fill area stores

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa. (WPVI) -- It was a shopping frenzy Friday as everyone scurried to get those last-minute gifts.

Every year, just as traditional as the holiday itself, those last-minute shoppers come out in droves adding to the madness of the final hours of holiday shopping.

Thousands flocked to the King of Prussia Mall because they knew they would have lots of stores to choose from and eventually see that item that will go perfectly under the Christmas tree.

"All the chaos is worthwhile after they open the gifts and you see the smiles on their face," said Anthony Price of Wilmington, Del. "It is really great."

Shoppers admit it's a wild and crazy experience but it has to be done. Some love it, others dread it.

"I would say the best advice is to be prepared and make a list of who you are shopping for," said mall spokesperson Kathy Smith. "Even come up with what you want to spend. I think that helps a lot as you are walking through the mall. Gift cards are still the number one choice of a gift for most people."
