Young professionals help raise money for homeless children in Philly

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Young professionals camped outside Friends Center in cardboard boxes in Center City, Philadelphia.

The group of almost 150, raised $135,000 with the help of sponsored donations for the Covenant House which helps young homeless people.

The Covenant House says it helps more than 5,000 homeless children every year.

The child welfare agency is located on East Armat Street in the city's Germantown section.

Ninety-five percent of its budget is funded by events like the sleep-out.
