It happened just before midnight as the 31-year-old man and his girlfriend were leaving a bar on Hunting Park Avenue.
Officers say someone rear-ended the man and woman as they got into their vehicle.
After the crash, police say a gunman shot the man before taking off in the victim's vehicle.
The man is expected to survive.
No arrests have been made.
