NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Just as freezing weather moves in, Operation Warm is helping local children bundle up.

Tuesday more than 100 North Philadelphia students took home new winter coats.

City firefighters and council President Darrell Clarke handed out the jackets at John F. Hartranft Elementary.

The operation warm charity drive has helped more than 2 million children, nationwide, since it started in 1998.
