Man hurt after being struck by vehicle in Frankford

FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- A man was struck by a vehicle and then dragged several hundred feet in Philadelphia's Frankford section Wednesday morning.

It happened around 9:30 a.m. near the intersection of Bustleton Avenue and Bridge Street.

The Fire Department says that after the man was struck he became trapped underneath the vehicle and was dragged approximately 300 feet.

It took fire crews roughly 20 minutes to free the man from under the vehicle.

The victim, said to be in his 40s, was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. His condition is not known at this time.

The striking vehicle did stay at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
