It happened shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday on the 400 block of West Reading Avenue.
When crews arrived, smoke and flames were seen coming from the rear of the two-story home.
Firefighters were able to put the fire out before it could spread.
No injuries were reported.
A cause is under investigation.
