Action News reporter Nora Muchanic's final bow with kid reporter

Thursday, November 2, 2017
SICKLERVILLE, N.J. (WPVI) -- The next generation of Action News reporters is already getting comfortable in the role.

A talented young Action News hopeful is already making preps.

You could hear the theme song and the phrase 'There goes that Action News van again' as 5-year-old Liam Morris of Sicklerville rode in his homemade version of the van.

Liam wanted to be a Channel 6 reporter for Halloween.

"At school, we just had a parade and everyone, a bazillion people, were saying they love my costume," Liam said.

Liam had the look, the microphone, and even a press pass.

Halloween is a family affair. Liam's parents Brielle and Mike acted as his camera crew.

His dad did a masterful job re-creating a real Action News van in miniature, complete with a satellite dish on top.

We asked Liam's dad, if one of our vans breaks down, can we borrow the one he built.

He said, "Absolutely. Absolutely. I don't know how many people can fit."

Mom Brielle Morris said Liam loves playing pretend.

"So Halloween is a great opportunity for him to do that, so we go all out," Brielle said.

Over the last couple years, Liam has dressed up like a garbageman and a mailman, too.

He interviewed the letter carrier driving through the neighborhood and she's pretty impressed.

"I think he's gonna be the next reporter here, and I love the truck. It's beautiful," said Cindy Smith.

Even at five, he's a charmer - bringing me flowers on the day I retire.

Whether its sports or hard news, this reporter thing may be more than just Halloween fun.

I think I could be looking at my replacement. This kindergartner is a natural.
