By the time crews began shoveling sidewalks in the area, the sun was shining brightly. But not every job can be done after the storm, some have to work right though it.
"I'm in my way to work now," said Theresa Fisher, who had no choice but to commute in the snow.
NJ drivers commute through messy storm
"I'm supposed to be there at 7, I left at 5 something this morning," said Charlie Brown as he walked to his car with a cup of coffee in his hand.
Brown has a job that doesn't stop even in a snow storm.
"I'm a 911 EMT for Cooper University Hospital," said Brown. "I work in Camden and we've got to be there for people in the city."
Theresa Fisher also knows that lives depend on her getting to work even as a storm drops inches of snow on the roads.
"I am a dialysis nurse so I'm needed," she said. "Since we do have snow, there's a possibility that my staff won't be there because of the snow. So I have to open the unit and dialyze the patients."

Serene winter views were also seen in Ventnor on Friday as waves washed up against the snowy sand.
"I've never seen snow like this down here," remarked Albert Novelli of Margate.
Snow blankets Atlantic County...again
In Margate on Friday morning, Ventnor Avenue looked clear. The side streets took a little more time.
"Snow is pretty. Snow is nice. It's a little bit a pain in the butt, but it's good," said David Lieberman of Margate.
Plow trains worked overnight in Galloway, circling the streets, pushing accumulating snow to the side.
In Absecon, snow piled up on windshields, falling at the Black Cat Bar and Grill.
In Atlantic City, the wheel on the Steel Pier flashed through the snowflakes.
The precipitation turned a little icy at times, pelting the boards.
Carlos Puerta of Atlantic City came to work prepared. A bike with snow tires made all the difference.
"I got my wheels, and it doesn't bother me," Puerta said.
Pedestrians were few but the plows were out clearing a path on the board.
"It's not that bad. It's better than the last storm. I like this kind of snow, it's light and fluffy," said Tina Watson of Atlantic City.
