CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan announced Wednesday that Pennsylvania State Police troopers will soon begin patrolling the streets of Chester.
The district attorney's office is also offering a reward of $2,500 to anyone who reports a person with an illegal gun, if that report leads to an arrest and conviction.

"One of the problems we have in solving some of these crimes is that the residents and the neighbors don't want to cooperate, don't want to give information," Whelan said.
So far this year there have been ten homicides in the city.
The DA's office will pick up part of the cost for the new patrols. The rest will be paid for by gaming revenue.
