Police searching for 4 men who carjacked mother in Old City

Police say the mother was driving her Land Rover SUV when four suspects jumped out of a black-colored SUV.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are searching for multiple suspects who carjacked a mother in Philadelphia's Old City neighborhood.

It happened around 9:30 p.m. on the 300 block of Chestnut Street.

Police say the mother was driving her Land Rover SUV when four suspects jumped out of a black-colored SUV.

At least one of the four suspects jumped into the woman's SUV and took off, investigators said.

Twenty minutes later, police say the woman's daughter was on her way to pick up her mother when she spotted the Land Rover unoccupied near Essington and Bartram avenues.

Officers are processing the vehicle for fingerprints.

The four suspects are still being sought at this time.

The mother was not injured in the incident.
