Prisoner escaped from Secane District Court, Upper Darby police say

UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Upper Darby Police officers are telling area residents to keep their cars and houses locked as they continue the search for an escaped prisoner.

Officials said a female prisoner escaped from the custody of a constable at the Secane District Court Thursday afternoon.

Police are searching for Carolyn Quiah, 27, of Glenolden.

Officials said Quiah was arrested Wednesday on charges of aggravated assault and she broke away from a constable Thursday at her arraignment hearing.

Quiah was seen in a beauty supply store Friday on the 100 block of Baltimore Pike in Lansdowne.

Police received a call 20 minutes after she had left the store in a minivan that she was driving.



Police ask anyone who sees someone matching her description to call 911.
