UPPER DARBY, Pa. (WPVI) -- Two dogs abused their whole lives are now on the road to recovery.

Earlier this month, Action News reported on the pit-bull mixes left to die in an Upper Darby park.

Reward offered after 2 emaciated dogs found in Upper Darby

On Tuesday, we got our first look at how desperate their situation really was.

New photos from the group Justice Rescue show the dog named Layla refusing to leave her companion Gracie in Penn Pine Park, despite the fact both dogs were starving and badly injured when dumped.

Now, thanks to some TLC from the Aardvark Animal Rescue in Downingtown's Aardvark Animal Hospital, Gracie and Layla are out of the woods.

In fact, the dogs were at Justice Rescue during a Facebook Live Tuesday night to thank their supporters.

The reward to catch their abusers is now up to $7,000.
