Sunday, July 2, 2017
COATESVILLE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A grieving mother is marking a tragic anniversary with a plea for your help.

"He was a happy go lucky person. He loved people. He trusted too many people, he just had a big heart, an infectious smile," Victim's mother Sherry Davis said.

Sherry says she can't believe this weekend, it will be 5 years since her son, Alex Davis' murder.

"It's just so hard not having him, and I still expect him to walk through the door at times. And I know he's not going to," she said.

On Monday, July 2, 2012, the 29-year-old was sitting in his car at 6th and Belmont Streets in Coatesville, Chester County.

Police say at about 11:40 p.m., he was shot and killed.

Sherry says she had just seen Alex, and his brother an hour earlier when they dropped off a grill at her house for her birthday.

"I just said I love you and be careful. An hour later I got a call to go to the hospital," Sherry said.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $5,000 reward for anyone with information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible.
All you have to do is call 215-546-TIPS.

All calls will remain anonymous.

"I know some people do know, and I wish they had a conscience and just come forward. We forgive who ever done it, but I just want somebody held accountable for taking his life," Sherry said.
