Person hit, killed by SEPTA train in Jenkintown, Pa.

JENKINTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating after a person was struck and killed by a SEPTA train in Jenkintown, Pa.

It happened around 1:50 p.m. Monday on SEPTA's West Trenton Line just south of the Rydal Station.

The train was on its way to Center City when the person was struck.

There was no immediate word as to why the person was on the tracks.

Service on the line had been suspended, but has since resumed.
