The district attorney's office said an outside company handling payroll for HighPoint Solutions noticed multiple suspicious direct deposits of "significant size" going into Cushman's personal account.
An investigation allegedly revealed Cushman, who was HighPoint Solutions' director of human resources, was issuing payroll checks in the names of former subcontractors who no longer did business with the company to her account.
She is accused of stealing $919,301 between May 2015 and June 2017.
Cushman has been released on $100,000 bail.
