HATBORO, Pa. (WPVI) -- Montgomery County authorities are investigating the vandalism of a popular swimming club.

It happened between Wednesday night and Thursday morning in Hatboro.

Police say the vandals broke into the Upper Moreland Swim Club at 3505 Moore Road.

Club president, Ron Ziegler told Action News that once inside, the vandals smashed vending machines, sprayed fire extinguishers on property, and tried to steal money from the safe. They also sprayed curse words on the property.

Ziegler estimates the damage to be about $30,000.

The club had been closed for the season, but was getting ready for Memorial Day weekend.

Ziegler says despite the damage, the club should open on time.

Anyone with information is asked to call Upper Moreland Township Police.
