The unemployment rate has dropped in Pennsylvania for the second straight month.

It fell one tenth in September to 4.8 percent.

However, this is still higher than the national average of 4.2 percent.

A separate survey found non-farm payrolls hit a record high with nearly six million Pennsylvanians working.
