READING, Pa. (WPVI) -- A giant sinkhole nearly swallowed a car in Reading, Pa. on Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say a broken water main ate away the earth to create this crater.

The hole is about 18 feet long and several feet deep.

Luckily, no one was in the car when the sink hole opened up. But as you can see, the back tire started to slide into it.

A tow truck was brought in to get the car out of the way.
