It happened around 1:30 a.m. Thursday on North Carlisle Street near Parrish Street.
Police say the man was under his propped-up car, using a cell phone light to make repairs, when the car fell on him.
He was rushed to the hospital, but died a short time later.
Police are investigating the circumstances of this incident.
