It happened shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday in the area of Fairhill Square Park at 4th Street and Lehigh Avenue.
Police said the victim is a 43-year-old man, who was stabbed multiple times.
The Philadelphia Fire Department and Medic Unit transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
No arrests have been made in this incident and police have not recovered a weapon. There is also no information on the victim's identity at this time.
The investigation is still ongoing.
