NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Eagles fans gathered at a tailgate at Nick's Roast Beef for games and to support a cause, all the while trying to contain their excitement for Sunday night's game in Seattle.

The event was not only a rally for an Eagles win but it is also a benefit for Tarken Park recreation center.

Despite the loss to Seattle, fans were confident the birds will not only clinch a playoff spot, but that they'll keep winning and go all the way. They said this particular game was an emotional one.

Eagles fans are hopeful team will clinch playoff spot Sunday

"It's been like a roller coaster. Up and down," said Monica DeNofa. "We're in a 10-1 streak and [this game has] been kind of awful."

Former Eagles left tackle Tra Thomas was one of the special guests at Sunday's event, and has some advice for fans that might be a bit challenging to follow.

"I just want fans to relax and enjoy the moment and just enjoy the season," said Thomas. "Just enjoy where you are right now instead of getting hyped up for what's going to happen."

Might be easier said than done.

Legendary Eagles quarterback Ron Jaworski was also there ahead of the game. He said this game is a test for the Eagles.

"When you play in Seattle, against a well coached, very talented football team, we'll find out how good the Eagles really are," said Jaworski.
