2-alarm fire forces evacuations in Port Richmond

PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- A large building fire has forced the evacuations of several residents in a Port Richmond neighborhood.

Philadelphia firefighters were called to the 1800 block of East Russell Street around 2 p.m. Monday.

They arrived to fire flames erupting from a garage.

The garage is near several homes. Residents in the immediate area of the fire have been evacuated, authorities say.

So far, no injuries have been reported.
