Woman killed, driver injured in Frankford car accident

FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police are investigating a crash that left a person dead along the Roosevelt Boulevard.

The crash happened just after 2 a.m. along the southbound outer lanes in the city's Frankford section. The driver lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree.

The passenger of the car, a 22-year-old woman, was ejected from the car and died at the scene. The driver, a 22-year-old man, suffered a leg injury and is currently at Aria Torresdale hospital.

The crash remains under investigation.
