PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The brother of a man who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run late Tuesday night in the West Oak Lane section of Philadelphia is pleading for the driver to come forward.

This comes as police released new images of a possible suspect and the vehicle believed to be involved in the crash.

Police say the driver in this incident actually got out of the vehicle, looked at the scene, and still took off.

Toby Maurice Bryant, 47, was hit and killed crossing the 7900 block of Ogontz Avenue around 11:10 p.m. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene eight minutes later.

The suspect vehicle is described by police as a silver, 2005 to 2007 Ford Five Hundred with possible front-end damage and front windshield damage.

Officers say the car also has pre-existing damage to the driver-side rear quarter panel.

An image of the alleged driver was also provided by police.

As investigators search for the suspect, Bryant's younger brother told Action News the things he'll miss.

"Arguing, debating, sharing laughs, hanging out," he said.

Family members say Bryant was heading to pick up dinner after leaving work at Golden Combs Barber Shop. He had worked there for more than 15 years.

"He was hit with such force he was knocked out of his footwear," said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

Bryant's family is now eagerly awaiting justice.

"I feel like they need to do the right thing and come forward and be honest," his brother said. "Give my family and my mom some closure."

Walter Walker says it was hard to come into work on Wednesday, having to walk past Bryant's chair knowing he won't be back.

"I had to answer a lot of questions today, phone ringing like crazy. You see people standing outside the door because everybody liked him," Walker said.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to contact police at 215-685-3184.
