FRANKFORD (WPVI) -- A teenager is under arrest and a second suspect still at large after a stolen car crashed into a corner store in the Frankford section of Philadelphia.

It happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday at Tioga Street and Frankford Avenue.

Stolen Car Slams Into Store

According to Philadelphia police, an 18-year-old man was behind the wheel of a blue Nissan SUV which was reported stolen on Monday.

Police say the teen came speeding up Frankford and collided into another car head-on.

The stolen Nissan then crashed into the store.

Frankford resident Chandler Beranger witnessed it all.

"This blue car comes speeding by and then crashes into that car and goes into the store," Beranger said.

The stolen SUV went through the front window of the store, ending up with merchandise all over its hood.

Police say two female employees, a 19-year-old and a pregnant 20-year-old, were inside the store at the time of the crash. Authorities say they could have been killed had they not been behind the counter.
