1 dead following crash on I-95 in South Philadelphia

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a fatal crash on I-95 in South Philadelphia.

It happened before 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the southbound lanes near Front Street.

Pennsylvania State Police say a 60-year-old man lost control of his vehicle while traveling southbound in the left lane of the highway near Front Street.

The man's SUV hit another vehicle in the southbound middle lane, flipping the second vehicle over.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. State police say he may have had a medical emergency prior to the crash.

The 23-year-old female driver of the second vehicle is being treated at Hahnemann University Hospital for minor injuries.



The victim's identity has not yet been released.
