The fire started on the 1200 block of North Wilton Street at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
There was heavy smoke and flames showing from the home when firefighters arrived.
Crews were able to pull the 13-year-old girl and her cat from the house.
The teen was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
A house next door was also damaged by the smoke and flames.
