Explosive device damages Chinese take-out restaurant in Parkside

PARKSIDE (WPVI) -- The front facade of a Chinese takeout restaurant was damaged after someone threw an explosive device at the building.

Police were called to the New Asia Restaurant in the 4500 block of Lancaster Avenue in the Philadelphia's Parkside section at 1:45 a.m. Monday.

Authorities believe the device may have been an M-80.

A 19-year-old man was injured. He walked to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center for treatment.

It's not yet known if he was involved in the incident.

There were no other injuries reported.
