RHAWNHURST (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Police have identified two suspected car thieves arrested after series of events that ended when police say one pointed a gun at officers and led them on a foot chase in the city's Rhawnhurst section.

18-year-old Tyrik Robinson of the 4600 block of Magee Avenue in Philadelphia and 19-year-old Nacir Breland of the 1600 block of West Erie Avenue are facing multiple charges.

The events leading up to the arrests began after 12 a.m. Thursday, when a silver Hyundai Tuscon was carjacked in Fairless Hills, Bucks County.

Police say four hours later, at 4:21 a.m., the stolen car with two men inside pulled up at the Santander Bank branch in the 9800 block of Bustleton Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.

Police Fire On Suspect

The suspects held up the security guard on duty there, taking his cell phone, cash and car keys.

One of the suspects drove off in the guard's white Toyota Camry, while the other followed in the stolen silver Hyundai.

Police caught sight of the stolen vehicles a short time later.

They followed the suspects to a park at Horrocks and Strahle streets in Philadelphia's Rhawnhurst section.

At 4:38 a.m. an officer and one of the suspects both got out of their vehicles.

The suspect, police say, pointed a gun at the officer, who fired one shot, missing the suspect.

The suspect then fled into the woods, and officers chased him.

He was apprehended a short time later.

Meantime, police say, the second suspect was found nearby, crouching down near the edge of the park.

Both men were taken into custody and are facing multiple charges.

Investigators were still on the scene Thursday morning, searching for the weapon officers say was pointed at them by one of the suspects.
