Family members identified her as Shaquira McCottry, who graduated from Girard College and was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard.
"Shaquira-- she was beautiful," described her aunt, Leslie McCottry. "She was in the military, and for her to get killed in her own neighborhood where she was born and raised- it doesn't sit right with us at all."
Around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, police were called to the 1100 block of West Wishart Street.
Arriving officers found Shaquira, shot multiple times. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.
"She just came home from Atlanta, nobody knows what happened," said Leslie McCottry.
Philadelphia police said McCottry was shot multiple times at close range.

"We found 22 spent shell casing many just feet away, some just inches away from where she was laying, which is an indication that the shooter or shooters were firing shots of her at very close range," said Philadelphia Police Chief Inspector Scott Small.
Police said it appears there were two shooters and both were wearing masks.
The pair was last seen running away east on the 1300 block of Wishart.
Shaquira's family hopes people come forward with tips as they mourn her loss.
"I'm just trying to be there for my family and all her siblings- her sisters and brothers," said her aunt.
Police are now viewing surveillance footage to see if they can learn more.
