Officers investigating West Kensington shooting met by unruly crowd

WEST KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A woman is hospitalized after being shot on a West Kensington Street Monday night.

It happened around 9:10 p.m. along the 2800 block of North Lee Street.

Arriving officer located a 26-year-old woman shooting victim.

They were also met by an unruly crowd.

As police were attempting to transport the woman, officers had to restrain people along the block from rushing past the crime scene tape.

The woman was taken to Temple University Hospital for care. She is stable.

The shooter remains at large.

Police recovered a gun at the scene, but it's not clear if the gun recovered was the one used in the shooting.
