Wawa Day! Free coffee, 2 new Philadelphia stores

Thursday, April 13, 2017
PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Usually at Action News we talk about Freebie Friday, but today it's Freebie Thursday.

Actually, today is Wawa Day.

The Delaware County-based convenience store is celebrating its 53rd anniversary by giving away free coffee - any size - to its customers all day long.

But that's not all.

In a Thursday press conference, in conjunction with Wawa Day, the company announced two new stores will be opening in Philadelphia.

The first location will be at 22nd and South streets.

Wawa says construction on these locations will begin soon and the stores are expected to open in early 2018.

The company says more new locations will be announced in the upcoming weeks.

Wawa also says it has signed on for two more years to be the title sponsor of Philadelphia's July 4th celebration Welcome America.
