Manhole cover flies into air after explosion in Old City Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Firefighters were on the scene after an underground explosion caused a manhole cover to fly into the air in the Old City section of Philadelphia.

It happened at 9:20 a.m. Thursday near 3rd and Market streets.

No one was injured.

It was not immediately clear what caused the blast or if any damage resulted.

PECO customers in the area were not affected.
