Police cruiser crashes taking shooting victim to hospital in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Officials say a police cruiser was heading to the hospital with a teenage shooting victim when it crashed in West Philadelphia.

Police say a Mitsubishi struck the cruiser at 57th and Walnut streets around 6:05 p.m. Tuesday.

Other officers arrived and transported the 16-year-old victim to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center, where he is in stable condition.

Neither the officers nor civilians involved in the crash were hurt.

Police say the shooting happened in the area of 58th and Baltimore.
