Suspect charged with 1 of 5 robberies in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia man is behind bars, charged in connection with a bank robbery in Northeast Philadelphia.

29-year-old Patrick Averill was arrested November 8th.



Police say he is the man seen in a surveillance photo robbing the Freedom Credit Union in the 4900 block of Princeton Avenue back on October 18th.

Investigators believe Averill may be also responsible for four additional robberies - three at banks and one at a Wawa - in Northeast Philadelphia.

No charges have been filed in connection with any of those cases.
